Abstract

Sexual harassment in elementary schools is a serious issue with long-term physical and psychological consequences. Data from the Kementrian Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak (KemenPPPA) reported 8,173 cases of sexual harassment in Indonesia from January to May 2024. Lack of sexual education often leads to inappropriate behaviors, such as touching sensitive body parts, making sexual remarks, or committing acts of sexual violence, which can cause trauma and affect children’s social development. Limited understanding of sexuality further increases the risk of children becoming victims of sexual violence. Early sexual education is essential, with teachers and parents playing key roles in its delivery. In line with the Merdeka Curriculum, sexual education is included in the PJOK subject, covering reproductive health and responsible behavior. Observations at SD Negeri 7 Banjar revealed that 84.3% of third-grade students lacked knowledge of sensitive body parts and reproductive organs. Teachers emphasized the need for engaging educational tools like illustrated storybooks. After going through the ADDIE method, this book can be distributed to third-grade students at SD Negeri 7 Banjar as a learning medium for sex education.
