Abstract

Waste is one of the thorny urban problems that require attention to maintain environmental sustainability and the health of living things. Improper waste management will cause damage and pollution to the environment. Increased development, population growth, social activities, and socioeconomic levels of human beings are alleged to have contributed to the increase in waste production. The behavior of people who do not choose waste, to the limited efforts of waste management is the main cause of the unresolved waste problem so far. In urban development, the current waste management goals are closely related to the previous TPS design which was inadequate because it was supposed to be a place where waste could be sorted and recycled. TPS Sibang Kaja as one of the area-based waste services has also not implemented waste sorting and processing. There, the garbage is only temporarily accommodated and then taken directly to the landfill by the garbage truck. The volume of waste becomes the same at TPS to landfill. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a TPS design study in Sibang Kaja to support waste settlement. The purpose of the re-design is to reduce, reuse, recycle (3R), and process organic waste as fertilizer so that the burden of waste and its amount is considered. transported by landfill is reduced.
