STUDY OF SHIPPING CONTAINER HOUSE MODIFICATION COMBINED WITH COMMON CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL
Abstract
The use of container blocks in the construction world is increasingly widespread because it is more economical, saves time and knockdown-able. The application of the design of the basic shape of the box and vertical line accents is quite relevant to the popular trends at the moment. The development of container building design has its own dynamics as more and more similar designs are modified, so there will be more and more to get an authentic new design. These developments will eventually lead to more extreme modifications. This study will examine in depth how the consideration of the proportion for the modification of the container design buildings related to the implications of the advantages compared to conventional buildings. The case study is a villa in the Kedungu area of Tabanan which was under construction at the time of this writing. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods with in-depth interviews with the project planners and project implementers by analyzing several criteria such as economic value, efficiency of construction time, and knockdown aspects.
