Abstract

Todays using air conditioning in residential is a necessity, especially for residential in urban areas. Using air conditioning can be a quick solution to deal with hot air problems. But the main problem is the air conditioning is requires a considerable energy consumption, which is about 60% of the total energy consumption. Through these problems, the solution to reduce air conditioning used with some ways likebuilding material selection, ventilation placement, open space concept, build a veranda, and also put some plants inside or outside the house. This journal using qualitative and literary analysismethod, the conclusion ofreducing hot air and solar radiation at house is using enviroment potention and managing living space element. Those ways can be solution to reduce hot air at house and also can reduce air conditioning usage.
