Abstract

Sustainable design is one of the concepts that became the main point in an interior design of the building in this modern era. However, the term sustainable design is only often associated with plants. In fact, by reducing the use of electricity, relying on the potential of natural resources, and human resources around, also can be said as a sustainable design. In addition, the problem that frequently happens today is global warming, then the concept of play with nature design is appropriate. The combination of natural stone, bamboo and rattan material was chosen as the main material in the design of the hotel. It is because those materials can be searched around the city of Magelang. As we know Magelang is the only city in Indonesia which is surrounded by 5 mountains and there are so many natural stone and other natural materials. Therefore, the design of the interior of Xerpa hotel in Magelang is done in order to reduce global warming and open the insight of sustainable design.
