Abstract

There is a phase in life that becomes a transitional bridge between adolescence and the next phase of life called adulthood, where many changes happen in the ways of thinking, relationships, and life values that have never been done before. This can create an internal crisis because people tend to feel helpless and alone. Forms of emotional crises that occur at the emerging adulthood stage is the feelings of helplessness, isolation, doubts about one's own abilities and fear of failure. This condition is known as the quarter life crisis (Atwood and Scholtz, 2008).

The emergence of challenges that need to be faced by early adulthood makes these individuals feel various conflicts and mental stresses, but in the research by First Direct Bank, 56% of 2000 British millennials aged 25-35 years have experienced a quarter life crisis and have learned new things about themselves than those that have never experienced a quarter life crisis. So this crisis also provides an opportunity for people to thrive even in difficult conditions. So that this phase will also help people to find a new perspective in life. However, there are also many people who become discouraged and experience mental health problems which can lead to various harmful things. Therefore, the design of this illustration book is expected to be able to educate individuals who experience a quarter life crisis so that they can recognize this phase, accept and obtain solutions.
