Abstract

The activity of storytelling has been rarely done by the parents to the children. The limited time the parents have to accompany their children caused the lack of ethic education, morality, and character in children. Thus, it makes the children spend their time with gadget. In addition, there are many foreign television programs and it makes the children forget their local custom, one of it is folktales. In the development of technology and globalization, promote the folktales synergized with local values and modern technology is needed to be done. The alternative media is animation film. Animation film has a wide distribution range and it can be watched by all types of people from kids, teenager, and adult. Raising the story of Bawang and Kesuna by Made Taro in which the story is full of moral value, human value, honesty, and law of cause and effect will be packed in form of animation film. In the future, it wishes that more and more similar works as the way to preserve the local custom and as learning media of ethics, character, and law to the children.
