ANIMASI SEBAGAI INSPIRASI PELESTARIAN BUDAYA BERKELANJUTAN

Animation is one of the entertainment media that interested children and adults. Animation becomes one option because it is able to display the visual effects
through technology that play a role in the production process. Therefore, the animation media is not rarely used to preserve the culture that still exists and
whose condition is increasingly extinct. This article discusses animation as an inspiration in cultural preservation efforts. The focus of the study analyzed some of
the culture of society that was revitalized through the animation medium. Data was taken through observation of several animated films produced since 2000. The theory used is the theory of hope proposed by Stotland. Analysis shows that animation as one of the media that play role in preservation of local culture. Some regional cultures such as folklore are revitalized/preserved through animated media. The animated media supported by the role of technology helps display visual effects so that folklore and regional culture become more interesting in the audience. Animation can be one of the media to preserve culture in a sustainable manner.
