Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest producers of coconut commodities. Almost every region produces coconut plants. Coconut plants have been known to the community since a long time as a plant that has a function and a wide range of usefulness from root to leaf. One part of coconut that can be utilized is coconut shell. The coconut shell is part of coconut fruit that is endokrap, hard, and covered by coconut husk. Coconut shells are usually used as a craft, fuel, and briquettes. But as craft material which has been developed these days, coconut shell products still incilined to be traditional with unevolved design.. With the increasing public awareness of the environment issues, contemporary products from natural materials increasingly in demand. The purpose of this design is a combination of the potential utilization of Indonesia's rich nature, with the design of a lamp that has the function of lighting as well as aesthetic function of display. Hopefully with this design can make the coconut shell into a craft work that brings the name and culture of Indonesia to foreign countries.
